40-year Milestone for Dr. Myers as Optometrist

Dr. Myers has spent the last 40 years providing Beloit and Smith Center with comprehensive vision care. To help celebrate the occasion, the EyeCare Center is encouraging the public to send their congratulations to Dr. Myers at 7 Myers Lane, Beloit, KS 67420.

Dr. Myers graduated from Smith Center High School in 1964. He attended Kansas Wesleyan University and graduated in 1968.  Dr. Myers graduated from optometry school at The Ohio State University in 1972.  In August of 1972, Dr. Myers purchased the practice of Dr. R. H. Ober, who had been practicing in Beloit for 50 years.  The small office was located in the west walk of the Porter Hotel, next to Tom Conroy's law office.  Dr. Myers moved his practice to the current location, the old Star Seed building, in 1983.  Dr. Myers and Dr. Thompson expanded the practice into Smith Center in 2001.

Dr. Myers is involved with Beloit United Methodist Church and Beloit Country Club.  He has been involved with youth baseball for 38 years. He coached baseball for about 25 years, and has been the K-18 State Co-Commissioner since 1999.  Dr. Myers is also an active member of the American Optometry Association, Heart of America Contact Lens Society, and the Kansas Optometry Association.
