Looking at the sun directly is NOT safe, without proper special-purpose solar filters. ENJOY and be SAFE!
HOW THE SUN CAUSES PERMANENT VISION LOSS:
When you hold a magnifying glass up to the sun. It focuses light intensely enough to start a fire. Something similar happens with the lens in your eye when it’s focused directly on the sun.
The light from the sun is very intense and concentrated into a very small area. That light is converted into heat and that heat burns the nerves and tissue of the retina and you will have a permanent area in your vision (the central area where your vision is sharpest and allows you to focus for reading, driving, and other detailed tasks) that you don’t see... a permanent black spot/blind spot. This damage will never heal itself, resulting in lifelong vision loss.
PLEASE VIEW SAFELY.
