The press box at Bill Foreman Field was dedicated to Dr. Bren A. Myers, in honor of a lifetime of dedication to Beloit baseball, Thursday evening prior to the K-18 League Championship game.
During the past 38 years of a baseball career that continues today, Dr. Myers coached over 400 games with abundant success, including the 1987 K-18 State Championship alongside the late Coach Bill Foreman. In addition to his time as a coach, Dr. Myers served as the K-18 East Region Commissioner for a short time. Dr. Myers currently serves as the K-18 State Co-Commissioner, a position he has occupied since 1999.
Family, friends and former players were in attendance to congratulate Dr. Myers. Special recognition was given to Mrs. Carolyn Myers for her outstanding support and dedication to Beloit baseball.
“Without the support of my loving wife Carolyn I would not be where I am today. The hours she has contributed over the years to Beloit baseball are immeasurable,” said Dr. Myers.
Kevin Marozas was also recognized for his time and efforts in organizing the event and creating the custom-made sign for the press box.
Dr. Chad Thompson, longtime associate of Dr. Myers delivered the dedication address at the event. Congratulations may be sent to Dr. Myers at 7 Myers Ln. in Beloit.
